Train strikes are planned for the 3, 4, 6 and 7 January 2023. The SDGM2023 arrangements will remain the same, but we understand that the strikes will significantly impact many participants’ travel to the venue, so please plan accordingly.

Please note that we will not be able to accept late registrations or make changes to your registration after 30 November, as we need to confirm final numbers for catering and accommodation.

Here are alternative means of travel to Durham:

  • Drive: If you would like to drive to the venue, either by car or minibus, please contact Jemma ( and we'd be happy to arrange parking (location in Venue).
  • Fly: There are daily flights to Newcastle from many UK airports, with onward connections to Durham via taxi or public transport.
  • Coach: There are daily coaches available to Newcastle (and some limited options to Durham) from across the UK, with onward connections to Durham via taxi or public transport.

Finally, we can recommend local hotels in Durham for those who wish to travel a day earlier.

If you have any concerns or enquiries, please contact Jemma (above)
